Runway Gen-4 Video Generator
Runway Gen-4 Turbo supports text-to-video and single-image video, 5- or 10-second duration, 720p or 1080p output and paid-model access.
Text and Image Workflow Examples
Six visual directions for concept scenes, lighting studies, camera framing, style experiments and motion drafts. Treat the stills as examples, not output guarantees.
What Controls Does Runway Gen-4 Expose?
The preselected form defines the supported request: a required prompt, optional single source image, duration and resolution with one documented compatibility constraint.
Text and Image Input Modes
Generate from a required text prompt or upload one source image and add a required motion prompt. The image path accepts JPEG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB.
Five- or Ten-Second Duration
Choose 5 or 10 seconds. This form does not expose 8-second output, scene extension or long-form sequencing.
720p or 1080p Output
Choose 720p or 1080p for five seconds. Ten-second requests are limited to 720p, and the form disables the incompatible 1080p combination.
Five Text-Mode Aspect Ratios
Text mode offers 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4 and 9:16. Image mode follows the source framing and does not expose a separate aspect-ratio control.
A Required 1,800-Character Prompt
Both modes require a prompt of up to 1,800 characters. Describe subject motion, camera behavior and protected details explicitly.
Paid Access and Estimated Time
This is a paid model. The form lists an estimate of about two minutes, while queue and request conditions can change actual completion time.
Runway Gen-4 use cases and clip limits
Use the visible controls for short video drafts and experiments. Generated motion, identity and camera behavior remain variable and require review.
Rapid Concept Tests
Try a 5-second 720p draft first, then change one prompt variable at a time before choosing a higher-cost setting.
Single-Image Animation
State the desired movement for one uploaded frame, then inspect identity, edge detail and background stability throughout the clip.
Framing Experiments
Use text mode to compare square, portrait and landscape ratios for a delivery channel before committing to a final brief.
Mood and Lighting Studies
Describe atmosphere and camera behavior as a visual experiment rather than assuming the model will preserve every scene detail.
Pitch and Previsualization Drafts
Use generated clips as concept material, then label, review and rights-clear them before client or stakeholder delivery.
Short Social Variants
Create alternate short-form drafts and route selected clips through the normal brand, platform and compliance checks.
